Ruck It

Sometimes the warfighter’s only logistical option is the ruck on his/her back. Weighing only 9.5 lbs., the Defencell™ DT1 is the first man-portable force protection system capable of stopping up to .50 caliber small arms fire.

Individual DT1 protective walls can be filled using minimal engineering resources. Two warfighters armed with entrenching tools and locally available fill (sand, rock, or gravel) can fully construct a DT1 barrier within minutes. A single DT1 unit provides the equivalent protection of 219 sandbags in a fraction of the setup time.

To ease portability, Defencell units are available in a custom man-portable kit. This compact unit, which holds up to four DT1 barriers, allows warfighters to quickly build protective walls in remote areas. DT1s can be configured for custom heights and widths depending on the expected threat, and can be separated to form individual cells, if desired.
