Military Personnel Protection
Defencell™ Force Protection Systems were developed for one purpose: to maximize soldier survivability in remote locations. Expeditionary forces equipped with Defencell units can quickly construct permanent forward operating base (FOB) fortifications, barracks, security partitions, and defensive fighting positions using minimal resources.
Most force protection systems, such as wire mesh gabions, were initially intended for civil engineering applications and then later modified for military use. These systems are often constructed using their original metal or plastic hardware which can fragment and injure personnel when detonated.
Defencell systems were designed specifically for military use, and feature 100% geotextile construction to minimize the inherent risk of secondary fragmentation. Defencell products offer a number of defensive and logistical advantages over other force protection systems, and can be combined with existing defensive structures to provide increased levels of military personnel protection.
Fillable using locally available earth-fill (sand, gravel, and small rocks), Defencell barriers provide temporary or permanent military personnel protection from bullets, bombs, and Vehicle Based Improvised Explosive Devices (VBIEDs). Defencell walls are highly modular, and can be configured to match specific objectives such as barracks security and perimeter protection.
Tactical Field Gear
The man-portable Defencell DT1 weighs only 9.5 lbs, and up to three units can be compressed in a rucksack. Useful for improvised field fortifications, the DT1 field kit expands to create a 5 feet high and 16 feet long ballistic barrier that can be filled without tools and compacted by foot.
Defensive Fighting Positions
Defencell systems offer light weight, modular defensive structures that can be installed in about 20 minutes, making them ideal for military personnel protection in remote locations. Multiple DT1s, DC2s, DC3s, and DC4s can be used to create above-ground fighting positions to protect defensive encampments.
Barracks Security
Defencell Force Protection Systems can quickly be placed in between barracks to provide partitioned ballistics protection, as well as to absorb shrapnel and blast shock waves. Additional benefits include soundproofing, insulation, and highly versatile construction options.
