Ammunition Depot

Unlike previous generations of force protection systems that allowed for secondary shrapnel when attacked, Defencell™ units are fully geotextile and non-metallic construction minimizes fragmentation risks when protecting ammunition depots and caches.

Whether the ammunition depot is needed to store force supplies or necessary to secure newly discovered enemy ammunition caches, Defencell’s lightweight and modular design enables quick deployment to create secure ammunition depots and storage facilities.

Protection Capability

Defencell force protection walls and ammunition depot designs have been extensively tested under combat conditions. This thorough protection capability makes Defencell barriers one of the safest options for expeditionary ammunition depot construction.

  • No inherent penetration of a 1 meter wall by slug or jet occurs with improvised shaped charges up to 2 kg Net Explosive Quantity (NEQ ) with a cone diameter of 60mm.
  • No penetration against stand-off weapons with a NEQ up to 15 kg and shaped charge weapons up to 2 kg NEQ.
  • Successfully impact tested to meet U.S. Department of States K12 (DoS-K12) and European (PAS) crash test certification standards, and can effectively defend against vehicles weighing up to 15,000 lbs.
