DC4 Force Protection System
The Defencell™ DC4 Force Protection System is the heavy duty solution to bullets, blast, and crash protection. While the DC4 is the largest barrier in the Defencell arsenal, it is still small and light enough to easily carry. A single DC4 produces a 16 foot long, 20 inch high and 87 inch wide wall that can be stacked up to four units high for increased protection levels.
When adequately filled with granular fill (sand, gravel, dirt, or small rocks), the DC4 unit can stop heavy artillery, mortars, rocket propelled grenades, and other fragmenting weapons. The increased thickness of the DC4 unit provides an additional layer of protection against blasting weapons. The DC4 is ideal for perimeter security walls, vehicle protection barriers, vehicle inspection lanes, and providing ballistics protection for mission critical assets.
Unlike wire mesh gabions, the DC4 does not include metal or plastic hardware that can cause secondary fragmentation. The 100% geotextile construction is designed to dissipate blasts across the length of the fabric to reduce the risk of the blast area penetrating beyond the outermost layer.
In addition to ballistics, the DC4 can safely halt large VBIEDs traveling at high speeds. The DC4 has been vehicle crash tested to US Department of State K12/M50 standards, as well as UK PAS68.
DC4 units are fully modular, and can be combined with DC1, DC2, and DC3 units to form large perimeter fortifications and airfield barriers. The DC4 requires minimal preparation to deploy, and can conform to sloped or uneven surfaces.
